◻ 寺
高輪一丁目から四丁目まででお寺の数は数えてみたところ12個存在する。（※このうち二本榎通り沿いには6個。）この数の多さは江戸時代の明暦の大火が原因とされ大火後に都市整備事業の一環でお寺をこの地区に多くまとめたとされている。ゆえに高輪は寺町としてとても静かな空気が流れている。坂の下では大規模開発が進んでいるが一歩裏道に入ると下町だ。
◻ Tempio
Da Takanawa 1-chome a 4-chome, si contano 12 templi. (*Di questi, sei si trovano lungo la via Nihon-enoki). Si dice che questo numero elevato sia dovuto al Grande Incendio di Meireki del periodo Edo (Marzo02/1657-Marzo04/1657) e si ritiene che dopo l’incendio molti templi siano stati raggruppati in quest’area come parte di un progetto di sviluppo urbano. Per questo motivo, Takanawa ha un’atmosfera molto tranquilla come città dei templi. Lo sviluppo su larga scala è in corso alla base della collina, ma una volta che ci si addentra nelle strade secondarie, ci si trova in un’area del centro.
◻ Temple
From Takanawa 1-chome to 4-chome, 12 temples exist by my count. (*Of these, six are located along Nihon-enoki Street.) The reason for this large number of temples is said to be due to the Great Mereki Fire of the Edo period (March02/1657-March04/1657) , and it is believed that after the fire, many temples were grouped together in this area as part of an urban development project. Therefore, Takanawa has a very quiet atmosphere as a temple town. Although large-scale development is underway at the bottom of the hill, once you take a step into the back streets, you will find yourself in a downtown area.

다카나와에는 사찰의 수를 세어보니 12곳이 있다. (※이 중 니혼-에노키도리에 6개가 있다). 이 많은 수의 사찰은 에도시대때(1657월3월2일부터 3월4일까지) 일어난 큰화재가 원인으로 추정되며, 대화재 이후 도시 정비 사업의 일환으로 사찰을 이 지역에 많이 집결시켰다고 한다. 그래서 다카나와는 절의 도시로서 매우 조용한 분위기가 흐르고 있다. 언덕 아래쪽은 대규모 개발이 진행되고 있지만, 한 발짝 뒷길로 들어가면 조용한 동네이다.
